Infrared saunas use infrared heaters to emit radiant heat that is absorbed by the skin. Instead of heating the air within the sauna, infrared saunas use infrared wavelengths to heat the body directly, promoting overall health and wellness by encouraging relaxation, releasing muscle tension after physical activity, and enhancing mood and well-being.

Jacuzzi^® infrared saunas feature two types of heaters to provide comprehensive therapy. Combination mica/carbon heaters surround the sides and back of the sauna, offering low EMF far infrared wavelengths. Front-facing heaters provide full-spectrum (near, mid, and far) infrared for a complete sauna session. Most other brands only include far infrared wavelengths.

• Near-Infrared (NIR): Also known as “bright light” or IR-A. It is used in IR photography and, because it penetrates human tissue deeply, for pain relief and skin health.
• Mid-Infrared (MIR): Often used in patio heaters or for industrial drying, this range provides a mix of surface heating and moderate penetration.
• Far-Infrared (FIR): Known as “comfort heat,” this wavelength is best at heating objects rather than the air and is commonly used in the sauna industry for detoxification.

Jacuzzi^® infrared saunas also feature therapeutic Red Light therapy and mood-enhancing high-output chromotherapy in two overhead light bars, along with LED reading lights.
